CA gives away money in Vegas

Houston, TX July 31, 2010—Classy Art in it’s never ending alternative marketing efforts will be “accidentally” dropping single dollar bills in the halls, elevators, lobbies, or anywhere retailers will be found walking throughout the World Market Center. These are real US currency $1 bills, and they will be stamped with the company name and booth numbers in an effort to create buzz and stimulate traffic into their showroom.

Who doesn’t like finding money? Who doesn’t like feeling lucky? Classy Art is going to give that opportunity to hundreds of people walking the halls, and because it is Las Vegas they feel that it is a good fit.

From giving flashing Mardi Gras beads at the Furniture Today party in Tupelo to having Promotional Models wearing a billboard on their back, Classy Art in combination with Pro Street Marketing (a Houston based grass roots marketing firm) has continued to find ways to break through the clutter of everyday advertisement and capture the attention of retailers at every market. This will be the first time that this promotion is being utilized, and both companies expect quite a bit of buzz surrounding the free money.

Most think that this type of defacing of US currency is illegal, however it is NOT. The law states that it is illegal to deface currency to a degree that is unfit for circulation where as these bills will have but a mere 1” stamp in one corner. A copy of the law is below:

“Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.”
